Tuning: Open G (gDGBD)
Old Joe Clark is pretty much a rite of passage for beginning clawhammer players and it’s a song I still love to play to this day!
There are countless renditions of Old Joe Clark in the old time and bluegrass traditions.
My arrangement employs a mix of basic strumming, the knockdown (or double thumbing) technique, and some rhythmical drop thumbing for good measure.
